The Brother BQ2500 is a versatile sewing and quilting machine, ideal for beginners who are looking to advance, or experienced sewists looking to upgrade. You'll be mesmerized by the exciting features all packed into one machine. With 729 built-in decorative & utility stitches, 14 one-step auto-size buttonholes, and a variety of presser feet, this machine holds everything you'd need in your dream sewing studio.
The BQ2500 was designed with quilters in mind, having built-in features like automatic height adjustment, a pivot function, and a variable-speed bobbin winder, while still preserving its rich sewing heritage.

11 ¼” needle to arm span
You'll have plenty of room to work on larger projects and quilts with a 56 square inch area. The needle to arm span measures 127mm x 286mm (5" x 11¼").
7” LCD colour touch screen display
With little or no colour shifting, you can see up to 260,000 colours. View on-screen tutorials and use the large, intuitive on-screen icons to control the machine.

Slide Speed Control
The slide speed control allows you to change the speed from slow to fast. This can also be used to change the stitch width while you sew.
The start/stop button can be used instead of a foot controller.
Compact MuVit Digital Dual Feed Foot
This new Brother Muvit is a digital dual-feed foot that allows you to easily feed a variety of materials (such as denim or silk). This foot provides better visibilty for your sewing and accommodates for thicker materials, with the ability to stitch forwards and backwards. The touch screen can be used to modify the unique digitally controlled direct motor powered foot to accommodate varied fabrics. Simply select the required feed using the plus and minus keys, then save the setting to memory for future use. When dual feed isn't needed, the foot can be turned off or removed easily.
This digitally controlled accessory foot is designed for difficult jobs that demand special handling, so you can trust that it will operate smoothly with just a touch.
Built-in stitches and fonts
This machine features 729 built-in sewing stitches, 14 one-step auto-size buttonhole styles and 5 sewing fonts. It also includes an additional 30 stitches on a CD, totalling your library to 759 stitches! There are so many options to create something unique!
My Custom Stitch
With the BQ2500, you can be creative by combining stitches for decorative projects, letters for words, and even name labels and memories for those one-of-a-kind gifts for loved ones. Plus, with the 'My Custom Stitch' option, you can design your own stitch directly on the LCD display, giving you complete control over the style with on-screen editing.
Pivot Function
The presser foot automatically lifts while the needle remains lowered for quick and easy fabric manipulation and pivoting. You'll have no trouble turning corners, following curves, and maneuvering around appliqué crafts. A must have for all quilters and sewers.
Automatic needle threading system
To thread the needle quickly and easily, simply glide your thread through the designated path and press the button.
LED Lighting and Spacious Work Area
You can illuminate your project with a 10" glow around the needle thanks to the improved LED illumination on the spacious 11.25" workstation.
Automatic Height Adjuster (AHA)
The AHA function keeps the presser foot pressure constant and helps maintain uniform stitch length on all fabric thicknesses, resulting in more consistent stitch quality over uneven surfaces.
Sideways and Directional Sewing
The machine sews straight and zigzag stitches not just forwards and backwards, but also sideways, making it ideal for stylish decorative mending. This machine can also stitch diagonally while using a straight stitch, in addition to stitching sideways.
Free-motion quilting and thread painting
Remove the feed dogs and install the included free-motion foot, which allows you to guide the fabric freely by hand. The machine is ready to go whether you're quilting a simple pattern or thread painting a complex design.
Quick set bobbin
Simply drop in a full bobbin, thread in the direction of the arrow, and you're ready to stitch with the quick set drop-in bobbin feature.
Bobbin Winder
The machine includes a built-in bobbin winder, allowing you to swiftly and effortlessly load your bobbins with your favourite thread colour!
7 point feed dogs
Superior stitch quality is ensured by the box motion feeding action paired with the 7-point feed dog system. From sheer silk to denim, sew smooth seams on any weight of fabric. It also prevents the material from shrinking or moving throughout the stitching process.
Continuous Automatic Pressure System
The ICAPS feature keeps the presser foot pressure constant regardless of fabric thickness, ensuring uniform stitch length on all fabrics.
USB Connection
Built-in USB connection for importing decorative stitches from a USB stick or connecting to your computer with a USB mouse (not supplied) for quick software updates and upgrades.
Lockstitch
This stitch is a lock off/reinforcement. When you hit this button, the machine will sew 3 to 5 reinforcement stitches at the conclusion of your sewing and then stop.
Knee Lifter
To raise and lower the presser foot, use the knee lift and leave your hands free. Ideal for large projects like quilts.
Automatic thread cutter
The upper and lower threads can be cut at the push of a button, or the machine can be programmed to cut them automatically for stitching.
Automatic Thread Tension
The tension will adjust automatically based on the stitch you've chosen, so you won't have to worry about it.
