Using a spring-action release, the Brother Free Motion Quilting Foot raises and lowers with the needle to allow the fabric to move between stitches and hold it in place while the stitches are created. It allows free-motion sewing when performing quilting, manual embroidery, or darning.

This foot is designed with a clear material so you have an excellent view of your work while in use. Suitable for all 5mm and 7mm models, it is ideal for free motion quilting, so you can experience creative freedom and achieve flawless results.

How to use the Brother Free Motion Quilting Foot:

  1. Lower the feed dogs.
  2. Set the machine for a straight stitch, making sure the needle is in the centre of the foot.
  3. Place the fabric beneath the presser foot.
  4. Use both hands to hold the fabric firmly.
  5. Begin to sew moving the fabric at an even pace in order to sew uniform stitches roughly 1/16" - 3/32" (2.0 - 2.5 mm) in length.
