Easy and simple - with the press of a lever, the thread is pulled through the eye of the needle! This advanced needle threading system saves you frustration and strain on your eyes.
Step by step threading
Be guided by the step by step illustrations on the machine so you can easily thread your machine with no trouble.
Quick set bobbin
Use Brother’s quick and seamless quick set drop-in bobbin feature. Simply drop in a full bobbin, thread in the direction of the arrow and you’re ready to sew.
Colour touch screen display
Manage all your sewing, embroidery and quilting functions on the easy-to-use 3.7" colour LCD touch screen. Preview your designs and stitches on screen before stitching them.
Plus, follow the built-in animated step by step instructions to make it easy for you to learn the machine!
Choose from different sewing stitches and preview them on screen, with the ability to adjust the length and width. Or, you can even create your own stitches with the My Custom Stitches feature.
Spacious workspace
The large 6.2” × 4.1” work area makes sewing easier and provides more space for quilts and bulky projects. You have the opportunity to create incredible projects with ease!

The NV180 has the perfect size hoop for you to start your embroidery journey. The 4” x 4” hoop has a maximum embroidery field of 100mm x 100mm and is ideal for you to embellish your creations, personalise everyday items around your home or create custom gifts.
Two additional frames available for purchase:
- 60mm x 20mm
- 170mm x 100mm (requires 2 hoopings)
Built-in embroidery designs and fonts
Add something to your creations using the library of 80 built-in embroidery designs, 140 frame pattern combinations and 10 embroidery lettering fonts.
You can combine lettering and frames to create your own unique and stylish monograms. Or, load in your own custom embroidery designs from a USB which can be created using embroidery software.
Plus, there are thousands of embroidery designs available online so your library will be unlimited!
On-screen editing
Easily preview, edit, adjust or combine designs and letters using on-screen editing. It allows you to merge multiple designs or add text to an existing design. Plus, you can manipulate and preview the changes of a design such as altering the colour, stitch density, rotation and move elements.
On-screen editing allows you to edit built-in fonts and change thread colours and configuration of a pattern. Easily adjust the size, rotation or mirror embroidery patterns with just the touch of a button. You can add multiple lines of text and align it to the left, right or center, with text rotation and font selection also available from one single editing panel.
USB port
Load your embroidery designs directly onto your machine by simply inserting a USB memory stick with the files on them.
Whether it’s purchased designs or designs you created yourself using software, you’ll be stitching them out in no time.

Designed for years of durability, the robust metal body of this machine will reduce vibration and shake.
The powerful DC (direct current) motor delivers explosive needle penetration to handle thicker, bulky layers of fabrics such as denim.
Weighing 12.5kg means it has a little bit of weight on it’s side to keep it stable. You want your machine to be firm and supported when sewing so it doesn’t tip over, and this machine will be secure on your table.

Use the speed slide control feature when using your foot control or start stop button, giving you full control of the speed.
Needle up/down button
Simply choose whether the needle should be up or down when the machine stops. Having your needle down is a useful pivot function when turning material, sewing corners or joining quilt pieces.
650 stitches per minute
Personalise and embellish your projects with up to 650 stitches per minute to add beautiful decorative embroidery and lettering.
