Juki Smart Feed
Reduce uneven feeding and stretched stitching of thin fabric using the Juki Smart Feed. Simply lowering the device will stabilise the feeding.
7" Colour Touch Panel
With the same ease as a smartphone or tablet, intuitively select and edit patterns, change various settings and view operation videos. The layout and user-friendliness of icons are revolutionary, with the most important and frequently used operations available.
Automatic Needle Threader
Thread the needle quickly and easily with one hand! Simply place the thread in the guide and lower the lever.
Automatic Lowering of Feed Dog
When the presser foot is raised to the extra lift position using the knee lifting lever, the feed dog lowers automatically. This prevents fabric from becoming tangled in the feed dog and allows for easy entry and exit.
Box Feed System
To achieve a consistent, reliable seam every time, the Box Feed system stays in contact with your fabrics for longer.
This allows you to evenly feed hard-to-sew high pile fabrics and sew thick fabrics effortlessly.
Micro Lifter Function
When sewing quilts, velvet, and other fabrics, you can use the presser foot pressure adjustment to lift the presser foot slightly to minimise uneven feeding and obtain a beautiful finish.
Straight Stitch Switching
Easily change the presser foot, feed dogs and throat plate to the straight stitch version.
The feed dog for straight stitches securely feeds the fabric to ensure smooth handling while sewing edges and curves, even with a narrow presser foot.
Light Control Function
Using the 7” colour touch screen, adjust the brightness settings to change the colour temperature of the bulb between daylight and soft white. With some fabric and thread colour combinations, this eliminates visibility issues.
Patterns and Characters
Combining one-point patterns and letters is a breeze with smartphone-like touch panel operations. You can also recall (up to 10) previously created patterns after viewing them on the screen.
Presser Foot Pressure
With a dial below the touch panel, you can quickly adjust the presser foot pressure. Respond quickly to stretched stitching and uneven feeding by adjusting the presser foot pressure while sewing.

View illustrations of stitch patterns in the history to easily identify and select them with a single touch.
Thread Tension Adjustment & Adjustment Value
Adjust the thread tension by sliding your finger over the scale in the touch panel.
Pivot Function
Effortlessly alter the sewing direction while keeping both hands on the fabric. (When sewing is halted with the needle in the lower position, the pivot function feature automatically raises the presser foot. This is especially useful when sewing corners of appliques and the like.
Pattern Variations
Create multiple variations from a single pattern, such as combining vertical and horizontal inversions.
Buttonholes
This machine allows you to create beautiful buttonholes, surpassing the quality of home sewing machines. Plus, you can easily adjust the cutting width on the buttonholes so you can sew a buttonhole that matches not only the button size but the button thickness.
Bobbin Winder
Simply wind some thread around the bobbin and pass it through the guide to prepare it for winding. You can wind the bobbin thread every time, and also use a cutter (red arrows) after winding.
Quick Bobbin Preparation
Bobbin Preparation is quick and easy on the HZL-UX8 by simply following the guide. It’s not necessary to pull up the bobbin thread.
Free Motion Sewing
With the ability to lower the feed dog with the push of a button, you can easily set up the machine for free-motion sewing. Let your creativity run wild!
Foot Controller
The foot switch can be fitted to the pedal on either the left or right side and can be assigned to any of the seven switch functions.
Knee Lifting Lever
Use your knee to activate the highly responsive lever, which allows the presser foot to be moved up and down with little force and without taking your hands off the fabric.

Store all your accessories such as presser feet and bobbins in the handy auxiliary box. Keep your tools neat, organised and easily accessible to make your sewing experience even more enjoyable.
