Trapunto Rose Cushion

Author: Rhonda Chandler  Date Posted:23 April 2020

Skill level: Advanced

In this project, we'll be creating a beautiful cushion cover using our Echidna Rose Blocks 1 and Rose Blocks 2 design sets. We will apply both the redwork and trapunto method along with adding quilting fill around the center design to create an elegant dimensional effect to the cushion. For an extra special touch, we'll attach gathered lace and frill to the outer edge of the cushion using My Design Center.

THE EMBROIDERY DESIGN

We have chosen to feature a rose design from our redwork embroidery design packs Rose Blocks 1 and Rose Blocks 2 however, you should be able to feature any redwork design using the same techniques.

Redwork embroidery which was traditionally stitched by hand is a simple style which is sewn in one colour thread.
